Thomas Sumter Academy is an independent, coeducational day school for students from K3-12th grade. We are fully accredited by SCISA (South Carolina Independent School Association) and COGNIA. COGNIA is a global accrediting agency network that serves over 36,000 institutions in more than 90 countries and impacts over 18 million students.

At Thomas Sumter Academy, we pride ourselves on our established, award-winning K-12 STEAM Program. Certified by SCISA since 2018, our program guarantees an educational experience where creativity meets critical thinking, collaboration, and practical application of knowledge. From Pre-K to Fifth Grade, students engage in a weekly dedicated STEAM class. Facilitated by a certified STEAM teacher, this class is crafted to ignite curiosity and cultivate innovative design thinking from an early age. STEAM principles are integrated into our curriculum across all grade levels and subjects. Our rich Fine Arts program not only complements but enhances our STEAM initiatives, offering students unique opportunities for expressing their learning and creativity.
