
At Thomas Sumter Academy, our Fine Arts program fosters creativity, self-expression, and artistic excellence through three key disciplines: Dance, Art, and Theatre. We provide a dynamic and enriching environment where students from kindergarten through high school can develop their talents, explore their passions, and showcase their abilities.
Our daily dance classes, open to students in grades K-12, offer training in multiple styles, including Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet/Lyrical, and Jazz/Contemporary. Students have the opportunity to compete annually in the SCISA Dance Competition and perform in a year-end recital.
Our Middle School Fine Arts class introduces students to fundamental lessons in Theatre, Music, and Art through engaging classroom projects and activities.
High School Art focuses on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, guiding students through various techniques, mediums, and artistic styles. Throughout the year, students curate and exhibit their work in gallery showcases, sharing their creative achievements with the community twice per year.
Our High School Theatre program provides comprehensive instruction in Theatre History, Play Production, and Acting. Students have the opportunity to participate in three productions per year, highlighting student talent. Fall One Act Showcase featuring one-act plays that compete in the SCISA Drama Festival each year. TSA has proudly earned three consecutive State Runner-Up Trophies (2022, 2023, and 2024) and has produced two Best Actress award winners. TSA also celebrates Christmas with the Arts each winter with a showcase of talent in Art, Music, Theatre, and Dance. To close the year, the TSA Theatre department produces a highly anticipated, student-driven production that serves as a cornerstone of our Fine Arts program, showcasing the dedication, passion, and creativity of our students.
