The Athletic Department at Thomas Sumter Academy strives to provide a developmental and well-rounded opportunity for students to grow both as athletes and leaders through over 17 sports at various levels of competition. An extension of TSA’s mission to prepare students for college and life, athletics emphasizes the growth of one’s character, leading to individual growth both on and off the field.
A member of the South Carolina Independent School Association, or SCISA, Thomas Sumter Academy has won over 70 State Championships at the Varsity level since its founding in 1964. This prolonged success has created a school-wide culture of hard work, expectations, accountability, and sportsmanship. This strive for excellence is synonymous with the school’s motto, “Acta Non Verba,” or “Actions Not Words.”
