As of December 5th, 2024, Thomas Sumter Academy has been designated as a PROUD Purple Star School.
The Purple Star School Program is designed to support schools in addressing the educational and social-emotional challenges faced by military-connected children during school transitions, helping them stay on track for college, careers, and life readiness.
Thomas Sumter Academy is proud to be the third independent school in the state of South Carolina to earn the prestigious Purple Star School designation. With approximately 40% of our families being military-connected, we take great pride in welcoming families stationed in our area, easing their transition, and integrating them into the TSA family from day one. Our staff and students, trained by the Military Child Education Coalition, are fully equipped to continue providing exceptional support to our families.
